I like #3, where the girl with the pink phone is lining up her shot. CrispyQ Apr 2018 #1
She has a nice smile, and obviously focused on what she's doing. Adsos Letter Apr 2018 #2

Beautiful photos, my dear Adsos Letter! CaliforniaPeggy Apr 2018 #3
At one point almost everyone in there had phones up for individual/group selfies with Lincoln. Adsos Letter Apr 2018 #4
That kind of photo is really hard to capture! CaliforniaPeggy Apr 2018 #5

The lady in the first image had a nice smile as well.

I could have walked all over the Mall just taking photos of people taking photos.

It's like knowing exactly when the whale will breach so you can catch it out of the water. It's impossible, or nearly.

The Ken Burns documentary Civil War.

The amount of pressure President Lincoln was under during his time in office is almost inconceivable. He truly was an extraordinary human being. If I had an opportunity to talk with one person from history it would be very hard not to choose him.

Pressure at home about the progress of the war, and whether or not the North should continue to pursue it; pressure from the possibility of foreign intervention on the side of the Confederacy; pressure from the enormous casualty figures, with no end in sight; getting re-elected after over three years of increasingly bitter fighting, with the horrendous casualties of Grant's Overland Campaign as a backdrop, and on and on.

Burns' Civil War is an amazing piece of work. We examined it in a Historiography class in college.
