They get blueberries so I don't feel sorry for them. My dogs love blueberries.

(22,380 posts)The very best thing is that you care and are right there giving us info and show us that your are paying attention.
The only thing you might stop doing is kicking the submission thread. But then, that's because you want us to do our part and come in with our photos....
Carry on. You're doing great.

(8,554 posts)I've got a pic that I took some time ago that popped to mind the minute you'd decided this month's theme, but now, seeing the rest of the entries, I'm not so sure it would be appropriate for me to enter. It's not of a place where we eat; the "we" is of another species entirely. Instead, it's a shot that captures the essence of the ongoing struggle I've had with the furry critters who simply love to fatten themselves at our "table".
I've seen how often "warm and fuzzy" pics are able to outdo even the most spectacular photographers sometimes during these contests, so I'll just hold this one for another time.
Here is Stretch, sadly hauled off by an Eagle some eight years ago, but who was tenacious in his love to eat in our backyard...

I wish I didn't have to make a decision on this one because that is a great image. I really didn't specify who the "we" should be. I admit that I had humans in mind, and it appears that others interpreted it that way as well.
I think that this would be a fantastic photo for another contest, but not this one.
Please be sure to enter that in another contest. It's a great image.
EDIT TO ADD: The Photo Group has always encouraged creative interpretations of contest themes. I would love to include this one for a lot of reasons, but weve already had 10 submissions and I feel that it would be unfair of me to broaden the scope/interpretation of the theme.
I admit that I am very conflicted about this. It is a great image.

(19,459 posts)I really was conflicted about this, because the image is so good, and a creative interpretation of the theme. Mira pointed out to me that a cat figured prominently in one of the images, so the squirrel will be fine.
Also: my wife just looked at your photo, and cracked up laughing. I told her my dilemma about including it, and she really took me to task for my previous decision; as a result, I will be doing a lot of yardwork today.
