Firefly/Lightning Bug (winged Beetles)

Resting up for mating activities later in the evening (bioluminescent mating signals - females flash back if they like what they see).

My front garden is teeming with them. A clear sky, a bright moon, and lots of fireflies. Absolutely lovely.

The head to the woods for most of their light work. They do rest up on my flowers though. I'm like their flophouse.

It may be my favorite poem in all the world. It makes me smile from the bottom of my soul.

Even after all this time
The Sun never says to the Earth
"You owe me."

Look what a love like that does.
It lights up the whole world.
