(14,559 posts)The image processor is as important as the sensor or lens and the lens quality is exceptional. The software adjusts dynamic range, color saturation, sharpness and noise reduction in such an intuitive way it's like the phone knows what you want to share. This is AI at its best.
My bedroom is decorated with 13x19 images from my wife's Samsung Galaxy S5. You can count the leaves on the trees.
When cell phones are capable of taking interchangeable lenses for specialty applications like macro and extreme telephoto the stand alone camera industry is dead. The currently available clip on lenses are toys and not yet up to true enthusiast quality but it won't be long.

I think the cellphone idea is great. Maybe one of the future contest winners will suggest it.
