Still LIfe at the Beach

There have been a lot of shells washed up--remnants of Florence--and it's been fun seeing what I could find while out walking Snowy on this trip to Emerald Isle. I took a few of them and created a still life to shoot in the late afternoon sun at high tide.

especially Sanibel Island in the Gulf.

Maybe it's just this location, or maybe it's Florence. I've never seen so many shells here. I usually stay about 5 miles from here which is more "in town" on Emerald Isle. I've never found a lot of big shells there, even when I'm out first thing in the morning.

Last time I was at Emerald Isle I found lots of sharks' teeth. The biggest was black. It looked like a piece of pine cone at first. Once I realized what they looked like I found a few more. I'm mentioning it in case it interests you to look for some while you're there.

Thanks for posting your beach finds. It brings back happy memories. Including making hand puppet shadows on the dunes in the moonlight.
