That if he didn't move I couldn't see him. Stayed there for long enough for the shot and then ran a few yards away, then split after a couple minutes.

you look, if you are just willing to focus on it. And you did focus on it. Lovely shots.

I once took up the challenge to find beauty in an overgrown vacant lot near where I was living. It is amazing what you can find if you try.

I love the Nikon 18-200. It's not really great throughout it's entire range of aperture and zoom, but it has a very nice sweet spot. I've been using it a lot lately with my infrared converted D5000 and it works incredibly well with it.

I like it a lot, but want to upgrade at some point. Not sure yet where to go though. I like it as it's the only lens I have, and I dread the idea of lugging around 3 or 4 different ones and changing them all the time.

The biggest thing I don't like about it is it's basically a lens for when you have good lighting. It also doesn't really produce good sharpness unless you stop it down a bit, and it doesn't perform great on the extreme long end. It also isn't a close up lens. If you avoid those limitations, you can do great things with it, as you've demonstrated. If you want to get another lens, rather than replacing that one, I suggest you figure out what type of photography you like to do best and then figure out what lens is going to perform well for that task. I have a whole drawer full of lenses, but most of those are pretty specialized.

I like your photos and especially like the sense of a challenge or exercise in photography. I think if we give ourselves a focus for the day or outing, we think about our camera and how it functions and we are forced to think about how we look at things artistically...

I like the photography contests we have mostly for this reason... it narrows our focus and provides opportunities to look at things in different ways...

I've been walking the same 1.3 miles to work for the past three years, and when I take my camera I have no problem shooting at least 50+ photos. Different season, different perspective, just looking at all the wonderful images that nature is offering me each and every day.
