Sky and Water are two of my favorite subjects.

The warm sky/lights reflected on the water are nice touches. Am I correct that the notation indicates the last shot is HDR? It's very nice without the over saturated look of so much HDR. Is it because of the lighting conditions? I know nothing about this stuff.

when you use HDR you can use play around with the colors to either prevent or emphasize the saturation. I tend to play around with the sliders on the program im using a lot to get something that I like. In this case i wanted the saturation to be relatively low since during the low light of dawn the colors tend to be muted. there are other cases where i boost the saturation for a different effect as in this shot

I'm messing with Silver Efex Pro2 on some of my older shots since I'm doing an interior remodel and don't have much time for getting new stuff.
I downloaded the trial copy of Color Efex4 but something is amiss; either the file is corrupted, or my laptop isn't up to the task (I suspect the latter). It runs Silver Efex and Lightroom 4.1 just fine, but can't seem to run Color Efex well.

Anyway...that train shot is way cool!
