Waning Pink Crescent Moon

We've all heard of a blue moon, but this morning the waning crescent moon was filtered by a gorgeous wash of pale pink clouds at dawn here in Raleigh. "Once in a pink moon" doesn't have quite the same ring as the phrase "once in a blue moon"...but it really was lovely!

Thanks for sharing. You took a great shot. I always love it when the moon is at the crescent stage, either waxing or waning, because that's when it looks the most to me like a little planet (which it basically is!). Thanks again for the pic.

I love seeing the moon up in the early morning or late afternoon. Makes it much easier to get a good shot without having to adjust for the brightness of a full moon.

Your moon shots are wonderful. Made me get out the camera when it was recently full and try to get a shot. I need to play more with the manual settings to get a decent moon shot when it's full because it is so bright here. When I lived in Chapel Hill and was shooting through trees, I used to get some great moon shots from our deck.
