It looks fat and prosperous.

Is that going to produce a monarch butterfly.........or what?

I'm going to keep an eye on it, just in case that's where it's going to 'cocoon'. Seems kind of early in the season, but no sense in taking chances.

.... a chrysalis and after 10 to 14 a monarch butterfly will emerge. Depending on the part of the
country you live in you might have one or two more generations before the migration to Mexico.

Thank you! I realize it won't be easy, but maybe we'll all get lucky and you can get a pic of the little friend after the metamorphosis.

... she has to set up a pup tent by the milkweed plant and keep a close eye on it so she can record the transformation into a Monarch Butterfly and share the videos with us so we too can witness the metamorphosis.
