up at 0 dark 30 to shoot the pie in the sky festival outside austin
its a combined balloon launch and pie eating contest.....
it was too windy the night before to get any photos of a night balloon glow

When I was younger, I wanted to take a ride in a hot air balloon, now that I'm older, not so much.

5. Balloon festivals are really fun

And lend themselves to great photo ops, like yours. I went once, long ago, and didn't expect to enjoy it since I wasn't going to be riding in one. Turns out, though, that just being there, surrounded by all the color and noise is quite exhilarating and I highly recommend it.

I got some good pictures, too, but all on film since that was back before internet days.
