I just returned from hiking 82 miles in three full days in Death Valley National Park. The last day I spent in the Mojave National Preserve and Sloan Canyon.

And petroglyphs!
I love them! Did you know they were there, or was it just luck?
Anyway, they're great.

(97 posts)3. Some I did
The really old dark ones, I had a suspicion about. There are lots of basalt outcrops in the area and there is one known major site. So, I did an 18 mile loop checking the rest of the outcrops and found those along with the grinding slick.
The younger ones were all in Sloan Canyon.
Thanks!

There was an area littered with appliances and a mean bison that ruled the place.

But doubtful that I would hike 84 miles.
Great photos!
