Basically, this photo was taken in Los Angeles, CA.
More specifically, I was standing in the Kenny Hahn Wilderness Area. This area overlooks LA's downtown, which is where the skyline buildings are. The mountains behind are the San Gabriel Range. The tallest mountain is 10,000 feet high.
I've taken many photos there, and I often see professional photographers also shooting for the LA Times and other publications.
The day I got this photo was unparalleled for the beauty you see here.
