Friend is in early stages of Parkinsons. Soon to be in wheelchair.

He is looking for suggestions on equipment and strategies to pursue photography. I thought of a platform across the arms of the wheelchair. Small tripod with ball adjustment. Remote shutter device.

Any other ideas?

That might come up with some useful websites. Also "New Mobility" magazine might be some help. It's geared toward people with spinal cord injury but obviously has lots of hints for wheelchair users.

You might also try calling or contacting the local independent living center to see if anyone there has some suggestions. There's usually an adaptive equipment specialist who might be able to suggest something. Most cities have a center, it'll either be listed as "xxx independent living center" or "xxx center for independent living."

Hope this is helpful, and best of luck to you and your friend.

But i follow the r/Parkinson's reddit and those people are so smart and helpful. Usually if anyone puts a question like that out it gets good responses. People build custom items and share. Great sub.
