(70,135 posts)they didnt rly hang together, and she was super shy.
but a while back i swapped the big carrier that i keep on top of the cage for a smaller one, and now they are tight, and boy is she bitchy.
gave her a roll of toilet paper in there and she has a nice lil nest goin.
she had an eye injury and was blind in 1 eye when i get her. it got infected and had to remove that eyeball. spendy shit, but...
i had a vid of them on fb, but i cant find it for some reason.

(9,874 posts)my conure was living outside in the under story trees and network of ropes in the chicken run (he never flies away) and spending his nights in a large screened-in area above the chicken coop to keep him safe from predators. eventually he thought he was a rooster and always had a favorite hen that he would stay with all day. when she would be laying an egg, he would guard her and preen her. he'd chase the other hens away from her. we got a new batch of hens and they weren't tolerant with him so he lives in a different area close to the house now. but here's a video of the green rooster with his hen....you've never seen a rooster this gentle and tender with his mate.
