Critters of the World captures that didn't make the cut

Let's see your Critter photos that almost made the contest. You can post and comment in this thread.

I'm always curious to see what you great photographers may have posted as you try to pick your best shots.

Being night hunters they use sound more than sight. One ear is located higher on the head than the other so they can tri-angulate prey both vertically as well as horizontally.

Cool pic and interesting find.

I had a great time a few years back shooting pelicans on the bayous in west coast Florida. Can't imagine what results I'd have if I had the equipment I have now! Back then it was bear rugs and stone axes (Star Trek reference).

I'm glad you got to see cats on your safari. When we went on ours, that was about the only thing we didn't see.

National parks, and gone for almost 7 weeks. I took over 6500 photos. Almost all were of the wildlife. Where were you? Did you see any white rhinos?

Several from Bonaire. I already posted one of a green iguana in the comments section, but I'll put him here again.

Then a shot of some of his buddies, that I like to call "We Three Kings"

Charley--a green parrot--that lives on the grounds of the resort I go to on Bonaire He's perched here on the railing of the open air restaurant.

and one of my favorites of Charley. You know Polly want a cracker? This is Charley want a martini

Then back in NC, there's a little x-rated turtle action

Bambi and Mom

Yes, there's plenty for both of us.
