I never thought about doing it with a wide angle lens though. I'd be afraid that the birds would poop all over my camera.

I could use the wi-fi or Bluetooth in my camera and use my phone as a remote trigger. I think the autofocus would be OK too. I've thought about putting the camera around ten feet away under a tarp or blanket, and releasing the shutter from inside the house.

These were all quarantine projects that I never got around to doing.

with me and loofa it clean.

I find the wifi a bit slow for something like BIF. I use it a lot in studio and selfies but there's a bit of lag it seems.

I'm wondering if I can use the RF release while using the camera wifi as a viewfinder. Releases are cheap, $20-50, so I just might give it a try. One may override the other. I'll report back.

Real neat seeing his "hits," as well as his "misses." Slow motion video was very nice.

Mostly though, Andy, I could not escape the sense that this guy has too much time on his hands . . .
