Related: About this forumIn keeping with my obsession for photographing rain kissed flowers. (Xpost from gardening)
This beautiful Lily opened just in time for yesterday's much needed (but perhaps a bit overboard) rain.
I've been having one of those difficult 'anxiety' weekends and really needed something to help me re-focus. This bloom definitely is helping. I'm waiting on another and if it's as lovely as I HOPE it will be, I'll share a photo, later.

(57,073 posts)That's a great way to occupy the (otherwise jittery) mind! And this gorgeous flower would make an excellent subject!
So glad you got through storms ok. Hoping ferals are ok too.
Ty for sharing!

(32,006 posts)Day lilies really mean SUMMER for me.
Being out in in the garden among the plants is so good for anxiety, at least it works for me. Although this recent heat wave doesnt make the prospect too attractive.

(26,268 posts)We really needed this rain to get past the drought but this might turn into a case of 'be careful what you wish for.' It sure has in parts of Flint and Detroit.

(149,635 posts)It reminds me of this verse:
Consider the lilies of the field; they neither grow nor spin; but not even Solomon in all his glory was arrayed like one of these.
This is from memory, which means I probably didn't get it exactly right, but the meaning is clear and appropriate!
I hope your anxiety is easing now.
