The negative is comparable to the composers score and the print to its performance. Each performance differs in subtle ways. Ansel Adams
In this case the negative is a digital file and I am interested in seeing how members of this group interpret it.
Crop it, dodge and burn it, saturate it ... use what ever tools you have at your disposal.
The image is a jpeg from the original raw file. I did nothing to it in the raw state.
For a larger image to work on
1. Right click on the photo and open it in a new tab or window on your browser.
2. Right click on that image and save it to your computer or click this link
https://postimg.cc/GHhQhSXt and download it.
3. Do what you like to it and then repost it here in this thread.

(149,517 posts)I simply converted it to B&W. I did another one, but I can't retrieve it. Oh well. I hope others will give you more interesting results.

(1,576 posts)I just thought it was perfect for B&W. I am going to play with a color version.

(3,155 posts)Very quick edit with Snapseed
MichaelSoE
(1,576 posts)I was unaware of Snapseed but it looks like it has a good assortment of tools for editing ... and it's free which is a really nice feature.
Grumpy Old Guy
(3,155 posts)It's free and super easy. It can do most things that Lightroom can do. Only drawbacks are masking isn't real precise and the text tool isn't great. Other than that, I love it.

(1,576 posts)I love the addition of smoke coming out the chimney
HAB911
(8,867 posts)the smoke is drifting in the opposite direction of the Spanish Moss, assuming that is not a lens aberration. Even so, I don't think having it in the other direction would have the same effect for some reason, balance maybe?

(149,517 posts)The moss looks truly spooky and of course, the sign is the perfect touch.

(14,559 posts)others have used B&W in different ways I thought I'd go this way.
PSP does a pretty good job of simulating IR if the color picture is right but this one not so much. Close but no ribbon, ya' know.
