Have seen some snow flakes a couple of times but nothing on the accumulating side. Sister up near Bangor, ME has some snow but she often says ME has gotten PA winters now.

My wife noticed forsythia blooms along the road last week (Dec 31st). Anyone with half a brain and been around for half a century knows the weather ain't like it used to be.

You can find beauty even when the weather is miserable.

Splendid images, lovely reflections. Nicely done!

....but most have grassy areas between the houses and waterline. That looks like a great place to be, even on a gloomy day.

It's been unusually mild (and drizzly) the last few days. Got up 6AM yesterday - 48 degrees. Today it's 50!

This morning it is 21 degrees at 9:30 am and the sun has been up for a few hours.

On Christmas Day it was 84 degrees; this was the warmest December on record for North Texas. Temps gradually dropped over the past week; this cold was supposed to get here on Thursday and it kept being pushed back.

I have joked to non Texas friends that I have been known to wear shorts to THanksgiving dinner but I never had a Christmas so warm that I could have worn shorts comfortably had I chosen to do so.

On Thanksgiving of 1991 or 1992, we were hit by sleet around 9:30 am - seriously heavy sleet. By the time I left my house to go to the inlaws for dinner at noon there was 4 inches of it on the ground and still coming down. Took me 40 minutes to drive 2 miles on a flat street.

When the Cowboys game started, the old open stadium had 5 inches - but the game went on. It has been referred to as "The Ice Bowl"

To see it too. Think one of those places you never see from road - only if you are on a property.

Crazy mild.

We drive past there every holiday on our way to my sister in law's house for Easter and Thanksgiving. Been past there probably a hundred times, but never noticed it. I'll have pay attention next time.

From Google Maps 3D, these are the houses:

I'd gladly trade it for the -18 temps we had here. The steam coming off the Mississippi looked kinda pretty, though.

Some of it really plays with your head. Must be just the combo of light and stillness of water. Duh
