We had a pair in our front deck area a couple of weeks ago. Just getting around to getting them off the camera.
It was 6:30am and there really wasn't enough light for great pictures, but these came out pretty good.

(126 posts)It didn't help that they were also somewhat backlit. The sun was almost up over the trees across the pond behind them.

(126 posts)At that point the fox spotted the two cats in the sliding glass door and came right up to the glass to check them out, inches away. The SO and I were standing back a bit so they wouldn't be so apt to see us. They are fairly skittish. The cats were VERY intent, and their tails were the size of the foxes!

(28,127 posts)We used to have greys but now only red fox in our neighborhood and I'm one of those crazy old women who feeds them.
They're one of my loves. Wish I had the talent and equipment to capture their pics as you have! Just wow!
All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,

(24,609 posts)We used to have a fox in our neighborhood who acted like it all his territory. He would run down the middle of the street like he had no concern about people or cars. He had the most beautiful tail I have ever seen.

They really are fun to watch. I have a couple of pics of the pair running across the ice, and of one of them sitting behind the house on the ice sunning him/herself. I'll try and get them posted this morning.
We had some snow squalls come through last night and we had tracks on the snow this morning. We're part of their regular territory, even though we don't see 'em every day.
