Anyone know why a Canon digital camera would suddenly take CTG files instead of JPEGs?

I don't know if I accidentally changed a setting on it.

memory card so they were labeled as ctg files, which aren't images. The jpegs were in another folder. I don't get why the camera does it like that as there was room for the jpegs in another folder.
