Related: About this forumThe moon rises over the Vincent Thomas Bridge.
This is a first edit. I want to work on it a little more to see if I can bring out some detail in the moon.

(149,580 posts)The perspective is great too.
Good luck with getting more detail out of the moon. But you're a master of this stuff!
It's truly gorgeous!

(205,133 posts)Though I'm not big on heights so I'm grateful I don't have to face that bridge!

(51,550 posts)I'm in Seal Beach. I've driven over that bridge many times. It's never looked as good as it does in that picture!

(28,117 posts)Perfect timing for framing the moon too. Wondering how long you must've waited to get this great shot.
My friend.

(3,158 posts)Actually, "there's an app for that."
Full disclosure:
There are programs that allow one to precisely predict when and where celestial alignments like this will occur. My friends used an app called "PlanIt Pro" to find this shot. There were about thirty of us gathered on a hill in San Pedro waiting for the action to start. It all worked out great.
I know, I shouldn't divulge my secrets, right?
I was able to take a bunch of test shots while the moon was rising, and then I snapped this one to make it look like the moon was hanging from the bridge.
Of course, I did have to brave the San Diego Freeway at rush hour and five dollars a gallon for gas, so that's something.

(31,381 posts)I'm fond of moon shots relative to something else: bridges, buildings, trees, mountains...and this one is quite dramatic!

(9,760 posts)I like to see the pix posted here by opening in new tab until I get to the photo on its own, but it's too time consuming to do it for every, or even most. Couldn't resist for this one. Very glad I did. Stunning photo!

(3,158 posts)I'm sure you've spotted this month's contest entry by now. I'm able to do an extreme amount of cropping with my 45mp Canon R5.
Thanks for the kind words.
