[Old Crank]

Today we are in Breitenbrunn Erzgebirge. This is right on the Czech border, South of Dresden.
We call it Christmas town. During the Advent season every window in every house, no really,
Has a lighted bow in it. this was so the miners could find their way home in the dark. This region
also makes the pyramids that spin under candle power.





You can see the bows in the windows.


This is a really fancy one. There are two turntables that move, including under the street part.

3. The reason we know this town.

My wife and I were getting ready for a bike tour in France by taking beginning
French for the ..... X time. In our class was a young lady from Germany who was
in the area as an aux pair. This is her hometown. I got to visit the family and her
dad and I did a couple of bike rides around the area. We have now spent several
Christmas days in their home. Great people.
