Any tips for meteor photos

Last edited Sat Oct 20, 2012, 07:10 PM - Edit history (1)

I'm using a Canon 50D

I plan to use 30 sec exposures at ISO1600 as wide as I can get.

I'm thinking ---- put the camera on continuous and tape the remote shutter button down -- with the idea to take a pic every 30 seconds.

The good news is I'm in a VERY dark area and it's going to be clear.

Any thoughts?

ive done it that way before. if you want to avoid star trails Id stick to an exposure of 1000/effective focal length of lens

Doing this precise thing was when I discovered my remote didn't work. At all.

(Wound up using the timer function)
