The Assassination of Gianni Versace is phenominal

Ryan Murphy is a major talent and his American Crime Story series is proof of that. The Don't Ask Don't Tell episode nothing short of fantastic interweaving of the various ways secrets harm gays. Darren Criss' Cunnanan is unbelievably charming and creepy at the same time. You can see how he inserted himself into so many lives.

As mesmerizing as the OJ series - more so to me, as these crimes are nowhere near as well known. I vividly remember when KYW (Philly news radio) broadcasted that the car phone signal from Lee Miglin's stolen car was in the area - which led to the murder of the park guard that same day.
Another Emmy-worthy performance was Judith Light in the episode about the murder of Lee Miglin, in which she played his wife Marilyn, who would not admit to herself or anyone else the possibility that her husband was leading a secret life.

I know I was unaware of any of this, I viewed Gianni Versace's death as just another random act of violence at the time.

It makes you think about all the things that occur in a life that gets that person to their act of infamy - and all the potential hidden 'monsters' around us all the time.

but I had the impression it was more of a spur of the moment spree not this long term, clearly serial killer scenario.

I'm glad they're highlighting the lives of all of Cunanan's victims, and not just Versace. They were no less important.
