I despise Donald Trump and wouldn't be watching the show were it not for my husband turning it on since there is nothing else to watch on Sunday nights.
Anyway - did anyone see the episode last night? Trump really stepped in it this time. People are PISSED that he fire Michael Andretti and Adam Coralla (sp?) over the Buick task.
It was obvious Trump wanted Andretti to be project manager and Adam stepped up to take the spot. Andretti didn't give Buick the free endorsement of the Andretti name for their car so Trump threw a hissy fit and fired both Adam and Michael.
Trump and Buick are both taking a beating in comments all over the internet. LOL

(16,334 posts)It's very clear he had Andretti there for one purpose and when that didn't happen, BAM, he was gone.
I can tell he wants Teresa to bring WAY more drama than she has been bringing. nf she doesn't step up in that department, she'll be gone.

(9,314 posts)was on Jay Leno tonight. He didn't say a whole lot about the show but said "Trump is Don King with worse hair and a man with a broken moral compass".
I think that pretty much sums it up.

(24,721 posts)team's task was so reminiscent of Occupy Wall Street's mike checks. This season of "The Apprentice" was filmed during the height of the OWS movement in NYC.
The Buick guys were clearly not happy with that aspect of the presentation. I noticed that one of them murmured something to the other one as the motorcycle guy yelled out, "You suck!" And I noticed that nothing about that was mentioned in the board room as Ivana listed the likes/dislikes of the guys' presentation by the Buick guys. Trump/Buick surely recognized the comparison of OWS & didn't want to call attention to it.
Adam didn't seem to care less about being Trump's apprentice. After seeing last night's episode, I wonder if he had planned all along to give OWS a subliminal shoutout in some way. He pulled it off & seemed fine with volunteering himself to be fired.

(16,334 posts)Thought for sure they were going to get beat up over the "you suck" part. Just crickets.

an intentional commentary on Buick and Trump.
As for a nod to OWS, I don't know, could be. It didn't remind me of OWS but that's just me.

(24,721 posts)of next Sunday's (4/8/12) episode.
It's too bad Arsenio used those two words against Lisa. Now Lisa can minimize & negate Arsenio's entirely legitimate complaints about Aubrey's (& Lisa's) overbearing, my-way-or-the-highway approach to "teamwork" by focusing on Arsenio's political incorrectness. Way to go, Arsenio.
(As an aside, my husband watches a lot of stand-up comedy on Netflix & he told me Lisa's comedic style is full of vile topics & profanity.)
Aubrey didn't even hear the remarks because she walked straight from the boardroom to the elevator to leave the building. Apparently, if she can't control the team she's on, her choice is to leave. I couldn't have been happier.
The women's team has been bogged down by Aubrey's & Lisa's bullying, steamrolling partnership from the beginning. They've behaved as though they were the only members on the women's team. Anyone else who has offered their own ideas or were prettier or who had a talent were treated as an annoyance. I can't count how many times I've seen Aubrey's or Lisa's eyes roll when other teammates have offered ideas.
Last night when the men & women were merged into two teams & Lisa & Aubrey were finally separated, it was fun watching the men react to Aubrey's overbearing personality. She had a negative effect on every man on the team. They could see for themselves that Aubrey was part of the reason the women's team had conflicts every single week.
Lisa was smart enough to become a part of her team & to keep her pushy personality from showing -- at least for last night's episode.

You have these two women pegged.

(16,334 posts)I know nothing of her other than this show but it does seem like she resents the other women...and maybe for good reason. She's the idea person but was on the losing side once again.
And on another topic, it seems strange that Penn leaves in the middle of the task and has done this more than once. Come on, he can't miss those things while he's on the show? Really?

(6,205 posts)There is no rhyme or reason to the way Trump fires folks.

(16,334 posts)He could have very easily fired Dayana but she keeps the drama alive.
I saw Penn on the Wendy Williams show and he ended up getting 250,000 from his bosses for his charity because they liked the way he handled himself on CA. That's the same amount he would have gotten had he won CA.
I always wondered why some of the celebs wanted to be on this show. Well, some of them really just do it for the charity and the publicity.
I think some are wannabes like Aubrey.
ohheckyeah
(9,314 posts)"You earned it?"
That's what I didn't get. And pompous doesn't fit the Trump brand? Really? Is there anyone MORE pompous than Donald Trump?
I think Penn was probably the most intelligent and emotionally balanced person on the Apprentice this season.

(41,832 posts)He for sure won't win now. Donald is a scumbag himself, but I'm pretty sure he won't let Arsenio win now.

(32,728 posts)... ODay had this to say about Hall: Arsenio is the biggest girl on this show, so I dont know why he doesnt like tap dancing or wearing cheerleading outfits. We all know he does it at home.
Mixed message, anyone? Isnt that exactly the type of intolerance ODay claims to be fighting against? And how would the charity ODay is representing on the show, GLSEN, feel about such a statement? We went ahead and asked them, and GLSEN director of communications Daryl Presgraves responded with the following statement: We recognize everything Aubrey has done on Celebrity Apprentice to raise awareness about GLSENs work to create safe schools for all. And we know people can use phrases without understanding their real meaning and true impact, and we can only hope that was the case here. GLSEN created the Think Before You Speak campaign with the Ad Council to alert teens to the harmful effects of disrespectful language, and thinking before you speak is an important principle for everyone on reality television.

Aiken also weighed in on his new-found role as a gay activist, taking on North Carolinas antigay Amendment One and appearing on CBS Face the Nation opposite the Family Research Councils Tony Perkins last week, an experience he laughingly still cant believe happened.
Wasnt that crazy? he asked, beaming with a smile, in an interview on my SiriusXM radio program. So it did happen, youre saying? Because I was thinking it was all a dream.
Aiken never would have imagined in 2003, when he was on American Idol and not open about his sexual orientation amid the rumor mill that he was gay, that he would one day be out, let alone that he would be an activist speaking passionately about gay marriage and the politics of the state he grew up in, North Carolina, on national television.
In 2003, wasnt even convinced [myself that I] was gay, he chuckled. Oh, no, no, no, no. You know, its a process for everyone. Even in 2008, when I came out publicly, I said, Im not going to be one of the activist people, who speak out publicly about it. Thats where I was in my own personal journey. I believed at that time that I was completely, perfectly out.
But Aiken eventually felt a sense of responsibility to young people, he said, working with groups like the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network [GLSEN], becoming more aware of issues LGBT youth face today.

I am convinced that Clay would have one, if he had a more "life or death" charity. It came down to that,
I think. How do you pick a fine charity such as Clay's over one that people die?
Actually, though, didn't think Clay or Arsenio were exceptionally bright or creative. No one on this
show ever seems to be. I can sit here and think of 10 more clever ads than they do and I'm not
even a creative entertainer.
Makes me think most entertainers are given their creativity by someone else, behind the scenes.
