What's up with MPT and the nonstop tele-thoning?

Are they in dire financial straits? Tried looking it up online but couldn't find anything.

It's been virtually non-stop for several months now, even preempting prime time shows. Or they air one show and go right back to fundraising.

A few Mondays ago, one of those health infomercial-esque ones was on instead of Antiques Roadshow. It wasn't a holiday and other PBS stations were showing AR.

Afternoon Tea hasn't been on for two days.

Anyone know what's going on?

(Yes, we donate and have for years)

Our PBS station is in a fundraising phase this week.

At least they had the season finale of Victoria Sunday night.

covers Maryland, Virgina, DC and eastern WV.

I'm worried because they used to only do it a few weeks out of the year, but the time has been steadily increasing over the past 12 months (maybe more).

I noticed a big jump in December and figured it was due to being the end of the year ... but it's still going on.

Funny you mention the Victoria finale, hubby swears it was cut short when they went into more fundraising.
(I wasn't watching because I've missed a lot, plan to watch it in full at some point)

Add: another odd thing is they aren't using the regularly scheduled shows to fundraise, like normal. Instead, it's been a lot of the "Healthy Gut" type people and Suze Orman infomercial-like shows. And the DooWop one. For months and months now.
