HBO to suspend filming with horses on racing drama ‘Luck’ after 3rd horse fatality

http://www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/tv/hbo-racetrack-drama-luck-faces-3rd-horse-fatality-production-halted-by-oversight-group/2012/03/13/gIQAr4RQAS_story.html

I'm up to episode 4 of this and it's a really good show. The article is a bit vague on how the first two horses were hurt (so that they had to be put down) but this third seems like it really was unavoidable. A shame, I hope they have good practices in place and can continue the show.

I don't know how they can do that. The whole show fails without horses.

Who wouldn't be racing except on that show so the injuries and deaths are due to them being put through something they are really no longer fit for.
