On this date in 1974, #TheRockfordFiles television movie pilot aired on NBC starring #JamesGarner, in which a woman (#LindsayWagner) hires Rockford to discover if her father's death was homicide or suicide. #BillMumy also guest stars. "Rocky" is portrayed by #RobertDonley.

previously with Garner. Whether playing the "good guy" or the (sort of) "bad guy," he always had a bit of a twinkle in his eye and a humorous edge.

He was just a very entertaining actor.

I love the "Rockford Files" still. The scoundrel "Angel" character is a favorite of mine.

Maverick shows up on one of the old TV show networks. Grit TV probably. Let's see. Oh, it's on MeTV:
