Related: About this forumBreaking Bad: Buyout (Spoilers)
Walter has finally, or maybe temporarily, lost all sense of values. If he took the buyout he would at least be able to spend time with his children - whatever time he has left.
Instead, he looks forward to cooking for another year or so - because the money is better. He assumes he'll live that long - maybe he's so blinded by his own greed and sense of entitlement that he thinks he can tell the cancer what to do, as well.
His manipulation of Jesse regarding "what's left" in his life will not change Jesse's mind, it seems to me. Jesse sees that Walt is no longer coming from the same moral space. Yeah, Jesse occupies more moral space in this world than Walt, now.
I'm like Jesse in his view of Todd - I don't want Walt to die, but I don't want him to continue down this road, either. But he will.

(1,811 posts)I saw "Aguirre: The Wrath Of God" again recently, and the parallels are starting to emerge.
I was also reminded of King Lear raging about betrayal, and a rat chewing at the wires. The frontal lobes in service to the reptile brain.
I was also reminded of this song - used in BrBa early on, after Walt's first kill.

(41,692 posts)He don't care about his kids, his wife, nobody.... or he would have taken the 5 mill.
Nope--- he truly wants to build that empire and become Tony Montana.

I don't know if you watch promos, but I posted one for next week's ep.
Walt seems like he's suicidal - except I guess he doesn't see it that way b/c, as he noted last season... he won. Or thinks he did.
