Any Outlander fans?

I came to the TV show only a couple of years ago. I was immediately grabbed by the story, the writing, the acting, the scenery, the production...and went on to read the books.
I became such a fan of Sam Heughan's portrayal of his character--James Alexander Malcom MacKenzie Fraser -- that I promised myself if he ever did return to his theatre roots, I'd go see him. I did--twice--see him in Macbeth last fall at the RSC in Stratford -upon-Avon.
If you're a fan, you are aware the final season 8 dropped streaming on STARZ at midnight EST last night. I stayed up to watch it and was sorely disappointed, primarily because of the Faith lived scenario.
If anyone else has been following the production/books, I'd be curious to know what you think.

3. I'm currently rereading Bees.

I'm in awe of Diana's storytelling capability. She can get off into the weeds, but her ability to develop character, move plot, and convey a sense of time and place is marvelous.
I have watched the series so many times I can't count. Episodes seem to be the most memorable when they follow Diana's story line and use dialogue found in the books.
There is so much material left in Bees that could have been used in the series that it baffles me why they would have decided to go down the road of Faith lived. It feels like a major betrayal, both to the characters of Claire and Jamie, and to the trust of fans as well. No explanation of how she survived or how when she did survive she would know the 20th Century song and be able to teach it to her daughters.
I feel like we're being set up for Claire's mother to encounter Faith at some point because Matt Roberts thinks he can write a better story than Diana.

I am going up in April to see the display of Outlander costumes from the first four seasons at the American History Museum in Yorktown. Terry Dresbach was nominated for an Emmy twice for her costume design from those years.
