(38,613 posts)I checked out the Wikipedia page, but it doesn't really say WTF it's about. Is it just them sitting around?

(31,507 posts)at all. The guys at work talk about it all the time and I see even kids clothes with the DD crew splattered all over, but I don't see the draw at all. There are so many "reality" shows on anymore that it's hard to keep track of them. I guess it's cheaper than paying actual writers and building sets.

(7,429 posts)Look at the whole Kardashian crap. None of them could get a real job in the acting world, so they made a whole world up for them. I have no idea why people watch that show either!

(1,944 posts)I really am blown away by all of these shows. They all seem to involve people yelling at each other, fighting, being proud of their ignorance and outrageous behavior. I have not actually watched any of them more than a couple of minutes while turning past the channel but it's nuts!
I had to stay with my Mom for a couple of weeks earlier this year and she likes the pawn shop show and the one where the guys travel around buying junk to resell. At least in those two there was no screaming or fighting. (Although in the pawn shop show the people are supposedly family members but they treat each other like crap.) Seeing the adverts for some of the other shows was an eye opener--about some guy that lives in the swamp and acts like a maniac, one about lumberjacks who pick fights and berate each other, etc. The supreme irony is that I think these were all on the History channel!
This is why if I watch tv I stay on BBC America or Netflix and watch the British shows. (Well, I confess, my guilty pleasure is still Survivor, so I'm not a total elitist, lol!)

(61 posts)demographic fan bases. The fan base of Duck Dynasty however, are Republican, NASCAR fans, and Fox news watchers. Plus, one of the members of the Duck Dynasty clan is being courted to run for a House seat as a GOP candidate.

I don't personally like the show. I watched about 15 minutes of one episode and found it to be like watching 'Larry the Cable Guy', Jeff Foxworthy's 'You Might be a Redneck' and other similar 'Bubba' crap. I am a hunter and I don't find the show appealing, but I would not presume to know the actual demos of the viewers without some data.
