I had seen a few episodes of this show here and there and I thought it was interesting. So, I just watched the series recap on ABC - and boy! Was there ever a lot that I missed......
My head is ready to explode and the new season hasn't started yet! Well, at least this has taken my mind off my personal problems. Today was my third day without a paycheck and all I had been watching was re-runs of Castle and 24-hours news......

(15,696 posts)As for Scandal, try to start from the beginning and watch the episodes in order if you can. The writers really know how to build suspense!
Hope you get back to work soon! My best friends are EPA workers, who decided to "volunteer" while furloughed. Not getting paid, but at least they won't have a ton of work piled up on their desks when this is over.

As far as the affair with the President, I think that whole plotline is there to add drama between any interaction between Liv and the President.

(22,000 posts)What do you think about the recent episode? Anyone?
Liv's dad is a sob. Huck should have killed him. I have to wonder if Jake is being on the level with Liv about him being released from the hole.
TheDebbieDee
(11,119 posts)But I'm crazy about the actor who plays him (I think his name is Joe Freeman), he's one of the best!
My heart is all torn up about the mad bomber's son, the son that was killed because the FBI, CIA and State Department don't talk to each other. And then the death of the mad bomber, herself. She died without knowing what her son did for his country!

(22,000 posts)That's a tough one when other's lives are in danger.
I think Liv's dad is going to end up dead by the end of this season or next.

(885 posts)I enjoyed the last episode but my gf didn't. I see this episode as the final part of the setup of Olivia's dad as the "big bad" for the season.
-Fitz has no control over him due to the "firewall" between the executive and B613.
-Huck can't kill him because of his conditioning.
-Jake knows he's not really free
-Olivia has the love/hate he's my father, and an evil bastard thing going on.
Everyone is aligned towards the same ultimate goal. They all have skin in this game.
So unless there's some extra revelation coming, he's at the center of this whole thing.

(11,119 posts)But maybe Scandal has already graduated to using the "Little Bad/Big Bad" formula and if this is so, Liv's Dad, or maybe even Jake will be the Little Bad.
Hell, Huck may turn out to be the Big Bad this season! How many seasons was this actor signed up for?

(885 posts)Liv's dad just moved from the shadowy sidelines to center stage in a big way, and everyone has a reason to stop him.
I think Huck may go off the reservation for a minute, but he'll finally get the resolution he need re: his wife/family.
Hmmmm... now that I think about it, this my be more about Huck than meets the eye...

(22,000 posts)*Warning spoilers*
The whole thing with Huck torturing people is getting to be too much. Then the wicked witch kills her husband. She's fucked. Prison won't be fun for her.

(11,119 posts)She just said that she had sinned.....maybe she just found the body and was overcome with guilt over the change in her stance on abortion or something. Somehow, I think Cyrus's husband (James?) had something to do with the Vice-President's (Sally's?) husband.
Also, I think it's a great twist that Liv figured out that her Mother was the monster that she thought her Father was....
davidpdx
(22,000 posts)I don't think James would have done that (though he was pretty disgusted with him which gives him motive). Could it have been Cyrus that killed him?? That would be a real twist.
As for Liv's mom, I wonder what will happen when she gets to Hong Kong. Liv said she has a friend helping her through customs. I have a feeling she'll call the friend and tell them not to help, which is going to put Live's mom in a bad situation especially since she has a gun (Why the hell did they give her a gun?). Liv and her father have some things to work out.
I'm also curious how things will play out between Huck and Quinn (Quinn is my favorite character). Getting those two teeth pulled had to have hurt pretty bad. Not sure what I'd want to make it even if I was her. Maybe a 2X4 and hit him up side the head a dozen times. His brain is already damaged from all his training.

(17,055 posts)Holy crap! Olivia's mother, what's going on? Olivia's father, what's up with that Jake thing? Please tell me Quinn isn't going in the direction it looks like she is. Wow, I just can't catch a clue there are so many twists and turns.
Good show. Keeps me on the edge of my seat.

(22,000 posts)I was right about the VP. She is a piece of work. That one had to be one of the best episodes. I wanted to see Olivia with Jake. Now that he's "command" I think I've changed my mind. Quinn is definitely screwing up.
Little Star
(17,055 posts)mean Huck was to her when she went running to him.
I also don't think Liv is happy with the way Huck is treating Quinn, wait until she finds out how he basically sent her right back into the arms of that other nut (can't remember his name.)
Now she (Quinn) is really screwing up bad! I hope Liv can bring her back into the fold before it's too late. I really like her character but only when she is in Olivia's camp.

(22,000 posts)She is kind of an odd character. Very smart and tough, but her flaws are easy to see. The gal who plays her is very pretty IMHO.
