Related: About this forumDoes anyone use DirecTV? How do you like it, how's the signal?
I live in CA, so weather's not a big issue.
(LOL, there was a meteorologist here that went East on June 1st. Not much to report. He said, "Basically you could tape one generic broadcast and run it through to the Fall.)

Me, I'm stuck with comcast--because I need the DSL and a minimal tv package comes with it. Satellite internet doesn't seem to be available in many areas....
My sister did like it--when she was able to get a signal, but storms cause a lot of outages.

(61,705 posts)Seems pretty easy to work with. I have issues with signal interference very rarely. It takes a HUGE thunderstorm to block the signal.
I like the whole-home dvr, too.

(4,851 posts)The merger has to be approved, but if it goes forward, DirecTV is only promising the same service for 3 years. It is expected then that everyone would have to buy the AT&T U-Verse package. I am not sure how this will impact service. The only reason I stay with DirecTV is the GREAT service. They always respond quickly to calls and are the best company I work with. Beware and be cautious until this all plays out.
