Related: About this forumI absolutely want a season 3 of Orphan Black
It's almost season 2's final and I'm already gonna miss it.
I'm not sure if it's primarily the crazy character development or how damned good it acted, but damn
sure hope there's a season 3!

(1,945 posts)The characters in this series are so good, and so well acted. Not just the clones but also Felix and even the ones I don't really like, like Donnie and Vic and more.
There must be a season 3!

(365 posts)Am actually more worried about there possibly not being a season 3 than about the finale!

(20,453 posts)As in, budgetary, or exhausted actors?
I see a lot of irregularity of BBC productions and you could be right, but I'm wondering your reason of thinking it.
lupinella
(365 posts)but since they haven't officially announced a renewal [though the production team has talked about the future in an active voice] I am more concerned that she might only have a per-season contract, and that she might get poached.
Mind, I've never seen anything to indicate that at all, but I'd really like BBC/Space to announce season 3 to lower my anxiety level!
Manson/Fawcett have said they are writing season 3 currently. I will keep repeating that as my mantra until they announce.
As per the season finale' - is there any character for whom you are particularly worried? My list is long: Felix, Cosima, Art, Mrs. S, Delphine, etc.
Am not as worried for Sarah, Allison, Tony or Helena. Sarah and Tony are survivors, Helena will flay anyone who wounds her & Allison, in high dudgeon, could make the Grim Reaper run away!
Can't wait for tonight!!

(20,453 posts)Hmmm
. That plot thickened when there was the discovery of the male clones! What a psych! So, now you know the guy that married at the end IS one!
Ha-Ha! The writing is great. I no longer fear for Cosima, given that Duncan's book made it to her
or DO I? I love the cliff hanging and I don't think any of the clone characters, save one could leave.
I wonder if the character Tony is long term? Felix must continue... I can't imagine him being written out.

(365 posts)Final warning to all: SPOILERS:
Seriously, this is one of the only shows that continues to surprise me!
Loved that Cos/Scott/Kira/Sarah won through the power of science-fair level weaponry!
Mrs. S. - you are shady-wonderful.
Am still worried for Cos, just because she is so very ill, & poor Eskimo Pie was sent away! (Which I hope means actually sent to Germany, not killed.)
Priding myself on figuring out that Mark was somehow involved w/ Paul/Sammy because of his military past, but didn't see just how involved.
Saw the male clones happening when the Castor reference was mentioned; was really hoping for Cal or Felix (Art would've been my choice, but figured he was too old to have fit in the timeline.) My mantra was simply: Just. Not. Paul.
It'll be interesting to see if Mark's actor is up for the task.
Also, poor Helena! She never catches a break. She, Felix and Cophine all broke my heart tonight.
Charlotte was a great surprise.
Think Kira might be behind everything... have absolute faith that she could do it.
And finally, Every episode needs a clone dance party!!

(365 posts)on Tony; Love him! Think he'll be a drop-in character: he is the most similar to Sarah, except for the obvious. He is a survivor, used to looking out for himself & dealing with society's opprobrium. He is practical, but felt the clone-connection to her. Unlike Sarah, he has no family connections. This makes him the perfect person to go his own way, but come back when needed.
Weird thing I appreciated about him - it gave Tatiana a reason to do a different Canadian accent!
And this really is the only show that has a valid reason for a cisgendered actor to be cast as a transgendered person! Made me laugh because I consider that to be a definite 'No' with casting, but... yeah.
Next time, I just want better hair/beard!

(5,946 posts)there was an interview with the creators who said they had a 3 season arc. But they also said they might try and take it into yet another direction to extend the show, while keeping the original arc to 3 seasons.

(20,453 posts)With Wil (Wesley Crusher) Wheaton?
The writers were on that special being interviewed.

(365 posts)if that's why they brought in Project Castor.

(5,946 posts)Show creator Graeme Manson revealed in an interview with BuzzyMag.com that while there is a "big picture" at work, it currently only accounts for three seasons of the show.
Well, we conceived of a three-season arc," he explained, "But we believe that that end point [is] either elastic enough to push down the road or maybe do that and then reboot the show in another way.

(5,946 posts)ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Lets start with the big twist at the very end. Tell me how and when you came upon the decision to add a group of male clones, one of which we have already met as Mark the Prolethean?
JOHN FAWCETT: The genesis for that was between season 1 and 2. There had been a lot of discussion about introducing male clones in season 2, and honestly the decision to have Mark be the male clone was something that we arrived at kind of as we were getting into the beginning of season 2, once we had started shooting and we had Ari in as Mark. Whats interesting about this is that Ari Millen is a really talented guy and hes someone that we had brought in as this new Prolethean character, and we had planned to kill him in episode 6. And after he did some significantly great work for us in the early get-going of the season we started to focus our eyes on him as very strong potential for our male clone, and thats kind of how that happened.
MrMickeysMom
(20,453 posts)I was imagining the inspiration from watching the actor who plays Mark. I can agree that subjects like this are just the tip of the iceberg.
The Proletheans
so much to be curious about in a morbid way.
Thanks!
that his acting changed their minds to kill him off... and make him a clone!
Now can someone talk to BBCA/Space about an announcement!

(1,245 posts)We're about to start the 2nd to last episode, there was just the accident involving Kira and Helena ... man, we hope she's okay! Such a shitty deal.
Anyways didn't wanna read too much of this thread lest there be spoilers, but ... is season 2 as great as the first one has been? Seems like there's no way it can have the magic of 'discovery' going on the way season 1 does, but reviews have generally been great, so I'm hoping it's going to continue to be awesome as it's been so far.

(20,453 posts)My husband and I have loved every episode, which is aptly described by its actors as, "season one on crack!"
