Glad about that. But the sound on that show is terrible. Too much loud background noise,, too much loud music.

(15,805 posts)Its very suspenseful, and I'm just flabbergasted that they didn't blow up all the US working sites in their zeal to make the A-bomb. Given how little they knew about radiation, and if the show portrays events anywhere approximate to what actually happened, its a miracle they succeeded without killing everyone involved.
I admit it, I'm hooked and now I want to look for a good book that will give me more details.

(88,117 posts)Good movie, but it actually shows those in that area sitting outside watching the mushroom clouds. I have been waiting to see what happened to the guy who supposedly swallowed the radiation instead of his coke....but he seems to be doing okay. Of course though he can't be.

(1 post)You'd do well to read an excellent novel by Joseph Kanon entitled "Los Alamos." It's approximately 15 years old but should be available in your library. There was a decent biography of Oppenheimer a few years ago as well as other historical books. The best book on the Rosenbergs and David Greenglass, actual atomic spies, is by Ron Radosh.
