The Arizona Ballot Audit Is A Disaster For The Republican Party

Arizona is no longer a red state. It is a swing state, and the only thing that Arizona Republicans accomplished with their ballot was to alienate and enrage non-Republican voters. Republicans in other states would be wise to stay far, far away from this idea.

The Arizona ballot audit has backfired on Republicans, and the new poll is the first warning sign that if Republicans pursue a 2024 rematch, Joe Biden may win by an even larger margin.

even some Whites are very upset. If certain %s of Whites in gerrymandering districts in red states vote for the other person, republicans will be messed up.

The mechanism of gerrymandering depends on having a very large majority in some areas which you skim off to add to what would be a minority in other areas to give you a majority there. But if your majority isn't as big as you think it is, when you do that skimming you could be skimming yourself into a minority in the very places you thought you were strongest. This is why they are working so hard on other vote suppression methods; gerrymandering is for them at best a stopgap solution. The ongoing demographic changes and the very outrage they are inspiring undermind gerrymandering as a tool for maintaining their majorities.

The fraudit is a continuation of the insurrection. The final report will claim election irregularities backed up by the fraudsters going door to door getting voters to sign affidavits that they experienced voting irregularities. The fraudit will be used as a reason for states that are passing undemocratic election laws. The fraudit wants to expand to other states until enough Electoral college votes are garnered that "would Have" changed the election.

The fraudit is designed to give more credence to the big lie which undermines faith in our elections or in other words, faith in out democracy. The fraudit is a step towards autocracy, it should have been stopped by our DOJ.

If they put out a final report alleging large-scale fraud (which would necessarily entail cooking up bogus evidence since there is practically no actual fraud), Dominion's lawyers will (figuratively) reduce them to a little red smear on the floor.

If they put out a final report admitting that there was no significant fraud, the Trumpanzees will (perhaps literally) reduce them to a little red smear on the floor.

That leaves only the third option: hem, haw, delay, and hope the problem magically goes away as the weather gets warmer.
