in my normally deep red retirement community in far west valley, as well as large street signs for Carmona, Penzone and the Democratic ticket in general. Pretty much a first in my 20 years out here.

I thought you said "If I were in Tucson..." rather than "it"

I can't go but my sister lives up there and said she was going to try - I will remind her to take a camera if she goes!

It will probably be too dark for me to take good pictures, but the media will be there. Yeah. Anyway...I'm so excited to see President Clinton!

10. Great experience, great crowd!

I couldn't get a good sense for how large the crowd was because I was fairly close to the stage and couldn't see over people toward the back. Yeah, I'm short. I've seen reports of anywhere from 5,500 to 9,000 attendees. The line to get in was HUGE. It looked like all the local media outlets were there and the media platform was packed with cameras and reporters. Everybody was upbeat, maybe a little subdued from all the waiting - first in line and then out on the lawn. Jimmy Eat World played several songs to start - they rocked it! I'd never seen them in concert before, but they did really well. Ex-Phoenix Suns player and current Mayor of Sacramento, Kevin Johnson, was up next and gave a short speech introducing Dr. Carmona. The crowd was happy to see him and he looked very happy to be back in AZ. Next up, Dr. Carmona came out, talked some more about his background and his hopes for election. Sorry, I don't remember much of his speech other than his personal story which is AMAZING. He's had such a life already! Really incredible. Finally, Dr. Carmona said he was honored to introduce " a rock star" and then the one and only Big Dog strolled out onto the stage. Btw, Pres. Clinton looks exactly like he does on TV - charismatic with that brilliant look in his eyes. He did the classic Clinton thing where he gave a multi-point speech, sans notes, targeting the demographics of the audience (college students and older folks) detailing why President Obama should be re-elected. The crowd LOVED him..of course . As we were leaving, I got a good look at the reporters and my sense was that they enjoying their assignment. Out on the street there was some sour-looking older women holding a poster: Obama is a danger to the constitution. There. Consider yourselves warned. I heard some guy ask her, "Don't you have anything better to do?" She was not amused, but I was! If there were other wingnuts, I didn't see them.
Anyhow, it was a very good experience and I'm so glad I went. Here's a link to read more about it:
