3. California still needs a networked water reclamation system

to channel rainwater, storm runoff streams and other resources into holding basins, and then a method to divert water into agricultural and use industrial use. I live in the desert and every time it rains, water runs down the streets and into dry gullies in the desert where it might help wildlife for a few days, but it's mostly a wasted resource.

We also lack regulations to make sure residential and commercial consumers are actually using the best science and equipment to use as little water as possible. Until we get serious about the conservation of our dwindling resources, whatever windfall might come from an El Niño pattern, will be lost.

8. The spring Pineapple Express associated with El Niņo could make waste of the winter snowpack

Which could translate to full reservoirs with nothing in reserve. Either way, it's all good compared to the situation we're in now, but watching all that untapped water spill back into the ocean is a bummer.

the time of year and climate was just right. I'm hoping for the same but like you said all of it's good compared to now.

10. The Pineapple Express is a very narrow stream, like a fireman's nozzle

And depending on where Mother Nature parks the high, the Pineapple Express could land most anywhere on the Pacific coast, from the Northwest to Southern California, or even Baja California. The southern Sierra snowpack could be diminished while the northern region remains intact, or vice versa. The best case scenario would be an undulating high and the stream would swing up and down the coast so everyone could benefit from the bounty.
