Sanders to air first ad in California

Bernie Sanders’s White House campaign will begin airing its first ad in California this weekend, a 30-second TV spot that contrasts his fundraising message with Hillary Clinton’s. The ad, titled “$27,” is an ode to what Sanders frequently touts as the average donation to his campaign.

“I think it’s the best $27 you could spend,” one supporter says, followed by quick videos of other supporters talking about how a donation to the Sanders’s campaign can lead to free college, Wall Street reforms and an increase in the minimum wage.

The spot will air in San Francisco Friday evening and in Los Angeles Saturday night, timed to coincide with Clinton’s high-dollar fundraisers with actor George Clooney in both cities, the Los Angeles Times reports.

As Hillary's campaign said,

“Hillary Clinton has made it a priority to raise money for Democrats up and down the ballot and we’re grateful to the Clooneys for helping us support the party with this event. We hope that Senator Sanders joins us in sending the money he raises off our event to other Democrats.”
