(13,360 posts)it's supposed to remain close to 80-85 here in Tahoe for the week... while the nights have been chilly, still no sign of freezing.... usually our first storm hits by 2nd week of Oct, some snow by Halloween. This year, all bets are off...nothing has been NORMAL for at least a year now

(22,271 posts)And here I'm whining at 103 in Fresburg. 108 in Pasadena is unbelievable! Well, I can report that the raisin farmers are happy although my winter starts in the garden are now withered and pretty much dead.

(9,298 posts)a long, LATE summer and temps around 100 degrees are utterly draining.
But I remember a Halloween maybe 7 years ago when it was 90 on Halloween! I was teaching in South Central then, and the poor kids were out on a black top playground marching around in their hot costumes. Back in the last century, growing up in N.Y., we had to plan costumes most years over snowsuits!
