(46,051 posts)But an actual thermometer outside says barely 90. I imagine its at least 100 up in the hills.

(51,611 posts)We also had more rain than normal across the entire state so I do not understand why there are fires already. It was raining last week. I don't get it.

(10,137 posts)but my house thermometer hit 100. It's down to only 96 now at 6:30PM.
An advantage of being retired: I can stay home and drink iced tea all day rather than getting into an oven on wheels.

(8,144 posts)electricity cut out, then back, then out again. Now on so I can run the swamp cooler. Almost two years ago, longer? Palo Alto hit 110. Unheard of for anyone who grew up here years ago. Worried about wildfires for my northern friends.
In the foothills, on alert here too, but we have bay on two sides, and not the same kind of wind.

(247 posts)It was 88.8 F today about 1PM in San Luis Obispo. It's cooled down to 68 F this evening. My roof has a white elastomeric coating so thankfully the house heats up much less on hot days.
Paso Robles' high was 101.6 F today.
Morro Bay's high was 78.1 F today along the water front.
