Looks like the CA EDD Unemployment Insurance site is crashing right now

Can’t get past the initial login.

I’m guessing it is being overwhelmed with the latest wave of applicants for UI benefits.

Next logjam will be on 4/28, when the site opens a new portal for independent contractors, 1099 workers etc who were not previously eligible for UI to apply for benefits under the CARES Act expansion.

I am guessing that 40-50 million Americans will have filed for UI by June.

Every time I try to create an account it doesn’t like my password or the pictures you’re supposed identify don’t work. I’m just going to wait it out. I’m glad my parents instilled in me saving for a rainy day. I am not panicking but it this goes on longer then 6 months I am screwed.

Filed over a month ago and can't access the site online but I received a snail mail confirmation and my claim is active. I need to find my CA EDD debit card to check if they're dropping funds in it. Thanks for the reminder.

I got through it with no problem at all (Thank God).....I'm thinking that it's because it was on a Sunday afternoon and maybe not a lot of people were online at that time.
