Have we talked about the Special Election for the 16th District yet?

Rubio (D) is vacating to spend more time with family and Chevron, so May 21st there will be a special election. This is part of the battle to keep our 2/3rds majority, so even if we aren't voting in this district, it would be good to see who is running and who to support.

Ramirez is running as a Dem, but his twitter feed suggests that he's anti-tax and pro 2A. Paulina Miranda has less of an internet presence but has a tweet about a UFW event, which is a plus in my book. Leticia Perez has endorsements from fire, teachers. Anybody know anything about what's what?

Edit, sorry Le Taz Hot, just saw your OP about this from earlier this month: http://www.democraticunderground.com/10403245

Not too many people interested in the "cesspool" part of the state so whatever we can do to garner interest in our local elections I say go for it.

Just FYI, I happened to be in the Democratic Party office a couple of days ago (picking up signs for a local initiative we've got going in June) and the local party is supporting Leticia Perez. No information on Frank Ramirez whatsoever in the office and Paulina Miranda was shown the door from all local activities some years ago. Let's just say the woman makes Michelle Bachmann look sane.

Oh yeah, and for the locals:

NO ON G!
