Help stop the abuse of the Homeless in Fresno: Thursday, August 22 at 7 p.m.

Thursday, August 22 at 7 p.m.
Fresno homeless advocates will meet at the College Community Congregational Church, 5550 N. Fresno St. (just north of Barstow on the east side of Fresno St.). The purpose of the meeting is to develop a strategy around the City of Fresno’s plan to demolish homeless encampments in the downtown area. At the first meeting, last week, the group set up the following 7 committees:

1.Organized resistance

During buildup:

2. Press conference

3. Website for sharing information
see: http://www.helpfresnoshomeless.org/

Day of demolitions:

4. Helping people move (Trucks, boxes, bags)

5.Witnessing and documenting
Video cameras

Ongoing:

6. Going to City Council

7. Legal strategies (can we stop the demolition with a Temporary Restraining Order?)
