Fresno May 10th 9:15am to 3pm Water Forum.. be a part of the organizing.

Another exciting Water Forum is being planned for May 10 at Fresno City College, 9:15-3 P.M. in and outside the Forum Hall in the Social Science Building.

Confirmed Plenary speakers include Lloyd Carter, Barbara Barrigan-Parilla of Restore the Delta, Adam Scow of Food & Water Watch, and Chris Acree of Revive the San Joaquin.

Invited, but not yet confirmed Plenary speakers include Chief Caleen Sisk of the Winnemem Wintu tribe, Mark Grossi of the Fresno Bee, and Paul Bettancourt, Westside farmer. Afternoon workshop presenters include water activist and storyteller Walt Shubin , environmental journalist, Dan Bacher, Kyla Mitchell, graduate of UC Davis's Environmental Studies Dept. and a Fresno City Water Dept. representative, both speaking about drought-tolerant landscaping.

Invited, but not yet confirmed is a representative of Green Action, Kettleman City. These workshops will be presented after a brown-bag lunch break. Two sets will be offered with a short break between. At the end of the day's activities each person will have the opportunity to be a part of a YouTube filming, everyone writing and displaying a statement of what they will do to be a Water Guardian and protector of Mother Earth.

Sound exciting? Come to our next planning meeting on Friday, March 14, 10 A.M. at Charlotte's Bakery, 609 E. Olive in the Tower District. We still need a title for the Forum. It is happening the day before Mother's Day; any ideas would be appreciated! Mother Earth needs our help; her life's blood is drying up. Come and become a water guardian. We are also looking for co-sponsors to help make our event happen!
