Yampa Valley Electric Association election ballots due Thursday, June 18

The Yampa Valley Electric Association is reminding members to submit their ballots ahead of the Thursday, June 18 deadline for its board of directors election, with additional voting available in person at the organization’s annual meeting on June 24, according to a recent news release.

The only contested race in this year’s election is in District 6, which represents Steamboat Springs and North Routt.

Incumbent board president Tom Fox initially announced his candidacy for re-election, along with challengers Lisa Rosintoski and Sarah Jones, but withdrew his bid on May 21, leaving Rosintoski and Jones as the sole District 6 candidates.

Two other seats are also up for election but are uncontested. In District 2, which covers Sunbeam, Maybell and areas outside Craig, incumbent Ray DuBois is the only candidate.
