Thanks to Christopher for sending: “a pair of Pileated Woodpecker chicks right off Connecticut Ave overpass of the Klingle trail, the tree is 20 yards from the bridge with the nest and you can hear them calling their parents.”

If you spot a hawk, any interesting wildlife or celebrity skateboarder Tony Hawk, and get a good photo please send in an email where you spotted them to princeofpetworth@gmail.com. Thanks! Hawks around Town is made possible by a generous grant from the Ben and Sylvia Gardner foundation.

they were beautiful to watch, and they are massive in size. I noticed them mainly because being in the wild Ozarks, you never knew if you would spot a more rare ivory billed woodpecker instead in the somewhat remote area of the Ozarks that we were located at. We saw quite a bit of wildlife (being behind a state park helped), so we saw quite a few critters. I do miss it, but at least, my sister and family still have the place.
