PREPARATIONS UNDERWAY IN FAIRFAX COUNTY FOR INCREASED RIDERSHIP SUNDAY AT THE VIENNA METRO STATION
Posted on August 9, 2018 by FCPD Media Relations Bureau

Fair Oaks Police District – We are expecting increased ridership at the Vienna Metro Station on Sunday. Several groups associated with rallies in Charlottesville on Saturday, August 11, intend to travel to Fairfax County to use the Orange Line to travel into the District of Columbia. To ensure the safety of the public and out of an abundance of caution, there will be a large police presence at the Vienna Metro Station between noon and 10:00 pm on Sunday, August 12.

Chief Roessler today stated, “The Fairfax County Police Department is working diligently with other area law enforcement agencies to maintain a safe environment for everyone to freely express their First Amendment rights. We also want to ensure the safety of our residents and those passing through our county.”

Please plan accordingly and consider using other forms of transportation or other metro stations.
