DC Mansion Murders: Housekeeper's Husband Says He Heard Something
The husband of the Savopoulos family housekeeper, Vera Figueroa, testified Monday at the trial of Daron Wint, the man accused of killing Figueroa and the Savopoulos family after taking them hostage in a wealthy D.C. neighborhood in 2015.
WTOP reports that Bernardo Alfaro said he had a bad feeling when he returned home from his night shift early that morning and found that his wife still wasn't home.
He testified that he went to the Savopoulos house to look for her, and nobody answered when he knocked, but added that he heard "a little noise inside" like a chair scraping on the floor, according to the report.
He also testified that Savvas Savopoulos called him to tell him that his wife, Amy, wasn't feeling well and was headed to the hospital, but everything was OK.
